Relate to the sentence: "Unlike many other fossorial rodents, Blind mole rats do not have enlarged front limbs and do not appear to use their forearms as a primary digging tool".

There is no fossorial rodents (e.g. mole rats) with enalrged front limbs! Only moles (which are NOT rodent) have enlarged front limbs used for digging. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.30.10.152 (talk) 22:31, 21 May 2007

Certainly not as large as moles, but the front limbs of pocket gophers, zokors, and tuco-tucos have enlarged claws and powerful forelimbs used for digging. I suppose it is really the claws that are large and the limbs powerful though often short, so the term "enlarged forelimb" may be inaccurate. --Aranae 03:54, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank for correcting the mistake. If you check the Hebrew version of the Mole-rat ("CHOLD") in Wikipedia you will find much more information that is very useful on mole-rat (specially on the blind mole rat). It could be excellent if one can add that important information also to the English version (even transalate all the Hebrew page to English).

Blind mole rat → Spalax — The common name "blind mole rat" is ambiguous, so this page should be at the scientific name. Blind mole rat sometimes refers particularly to one species, S. ehrenbergii, and "fossorial mole rat" and "subterranean mole rat" also seem to be in use for this genus. (And, on a footnote, none of these are good descriptive terms.) Spalax (record company) is not very important: it is a small specialist recording company wheras these rodents are as common and visible as rabbits in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. The record company page has been viewed 63 times (partly myself and others discussing these rodents) against 597 for this page (This is in February 2010). —innotata (Talk • Contribs) 23:56, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
