This needs to be updated to add Sandy Bridge chips. bobmilkman (talk) 11:27, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

using the same photo in both G1 and G2 socket articles

Can this be updated? It's already confusing with the 36x35 35x36 pin description to then have the same picture for both wikipeida articles!

G2

Why is there no article for G2 sockets (but a link to one)?Circuitboardsushi (talk) 16:03, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Socket G2 was created February 2013. ~Kvng (talk) 17:04, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Skt 989

My understanding is that 989 only exists as a socket on mobos, and just about all laptop mobos since 2012 are equipped with it. Skt 989 will take any of the 988x CPUs. Scanning thru Ark Intel, I cannot find any rPGA989 mobile CPU package. It allows a much greater flexibility for manufacturers.203.220.102.239 (talk) 07:27, 31 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Memory support

This article doesn't mention if this socket supports DDR2 or DDR3 instead.--MisterSanderson (talk) 17:36, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The image used in the article is a successor Socket G2 image. Wikimedia doesn't have a good picture of the socket, but there is a motherboard. NF98-QM57.jpg
