This article has many issues and appears to be largely the work of one author, for which this is there only contribution to WP and there is only one instance of a 'smart nation' mentioned. Should we keep it and develop it, or should relevant content be merged into Smart city or Singapore? If there is evidence that this is not a 'one off' and that other countries will develop in this way they I guess we should keep it. In support of this article is the Smart Nations Global Initiative and Canada's Blueprint for a Smart Nation. My concern is that the term is being used very differently and sparsely at present. Proposed merge
I propose to merge this article into Smart City and convert it to a redirect. Do note however that the 'merge' will only result in a brief mention of Singapore's 'smart nation' project. It may be appropriate to add more details to the Singapore article (which doesn't currently include the phase 'smart nation' at all btw). PeterEastern (talk) 05:21, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- I have converted to article to a redirect to Smart city. It is not long since I added the banner, but this article was tagged with 'multiple issues' a few months ago with no response. I also added a message to the talk page of the main contributor with no response. If anyone objects then I suggest we discuss it on talk:Smart city. PeterEastern (talk) 21:26, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
Smart Nation disambiguation
This article has been created by more than a single author at different times referring to the same thing. A Smart Nation is not the same as a Smart City because it involves policies at a national level. And the most commonly understood use of that term is to refer to a country that employs technology on a nationwide scale for the improvement of life and business. Another synonymous term is "intelligent nation". The Singapore Smart Nation concept is not owned by that country - it is merely one of the first implementations of the concept. As other countries implement their own concept of similar nature, this page can be edited then. While the article should not be redirected to "smart city", perhaps there should be a disambiguation page set up for it to point to 1) The Smart Nations initiative 2) Canada's "Smart Nation" education initiative 3) Singapore's smart nation vision and 4) Other uses of the term. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Javachan (talk • contribs) 04:22, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
