This page was re-directing to the article on Private Military Companies (see discussion [here]), which is innapropriate as private security companies are in no way, shape, or form related to PMCs. Further work will be done on this article within 48 hours.--Breandán 07:21, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion Between PMCs and Private Security Companies

Thank you, Philip, for putting in the "see also" section. I am unsure if it is a matter of confusion that some people equate security companies with PMCs, or if there is no distinction between the two in some countries, but it should be noted that they are worlds apart. Securitas and Blackwater are about as similar as Ford Motor Company and Lockheed-Martin.--Breandán 07:52, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with private military company

Please see my comments at the talk page there. Thanks, -- CJSC // Contact 13:45, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How exactly do private security companies- which are the security guards you see in schools, malls, office buildings, etc.- in any way related to quasi-paramilitaries like Blackwater? They fall under a completely different legal auspice, being governed by the states they are based in, do not take part in warfare, and are, largely, comprised of unarmed retirees and college students. I keep fighting this push to link PMCs and security guards based on semantics, and it boggles my mind that it is once again happening.--Breandán 00:45, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
