This is going to be a quick fail due to the article being a long way from passing criteria 1 and 3 of the good article criteria. The article is very heavily reliant on quotes, which does not make for good writing. Also, there are not other sections other than history, which puts the article a long way from being broad in coverage. I would expect an article of this type to mention geography, demographics, amenities, and local/state/federal electoral districts and wards. There are some other Good Articles on places in Australia and New Zealand which you can find at Wikipedia:Good articles/Geography and places#Australia and the Pacific, some of which were written by me, which can also be found on my user page.
