No matter how many seats the SNP hold they are still one party so the statement holds true because most of the other major pro-independence party's support a Scottish republic. Also, what evidence do you have that the SNP are "expressly Monarchist"? I have seen no evidence to support his. They seem neutral or non-committal on the matter.
