The listing is mostly correct. The National Association of Sales Outsourcers has similar language but the overall definitions should be expanded somewhat and limit out practices such as consumer telemarketing, lead generation, etc. An important book that should be mentioned is "Outsourcing the Sales Function" which discusses REP relationships and briefly ties to sales outsourcing and outsourced sales overall.

I added a few alternative scenarios into the article as I think ther are broader definitions of sales outsourcing. There ae 3 main reasons to outsource a service, 1. cost - not that relevant in sales as the upside is a munltiploer of sales. 2. bandwidth - you need additional resources. 3.
