I'm pretty sure cannabis (which is an 'old world' plant) was brought over to the americas buy europeans and/or asians. I don't know what extent it's used by native americans as an entheogen, but it certainly is'nt traditional on par with peyote for example. I think what's there is true for many parts of the old world, esspecially India, but that does'nt mean native americans used it.
