Curious... I am from the city of Ciudad Real, founded in 1255 in Spain. The translation in of my city in english is "Royal City". Any spanish there in 1956? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.34.14.134 (talk) 23:46, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disappointed

I was disappointed with this article, as it failed to answer the question I came here with: Why is the place named "Royal City"? That it takes its name from the "Royal Slope" region within which it lies simply moves the question: why is the region called "Royal Slope"? To simply cite "Royal Slope" when there is no article on "Royal Slope" at which to follow up is really dropping the ball. Was it named in honor of an actual king, and if so which? It seems *extremely* odd for a place in America settled so late to be named "Royal".

And if the answer is lost to history, even that datum would be useful to mention in the article.
