Clarify Rochester

Clarify whether this is in the City of Rochester, in Monroe County, New York, or the Town of Rochester, in Ulster County, New York.66.10.94.35 (talk) 19:25, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is not correct to say that Bodhin Kjolhede received inka from Kapleau considering the facts from Philip Kapleau page.Spt51 (talk) 00:04, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No citation for the statement

"Since its founding, the Rochester Zen Center has thrived, becoming one of the largest and most respected Buddhist centers in North America.[1]" The citation provided does not support this statement. The source is an advertising brochure published by Rochester Zen Center.[1] Please, rewrite or provide legitimate source.Spt51 (talk) 00:07, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Denomination

I've changed "denomination" into "independent", since Kapleau de facto established his own school. how this is valued is up to one's personal choice, either as a deviation from 'the real thing', or as a sign of independence. But as far as I can see, Kapleau's lineage is not recognized as part of either the Soto-shu or Rinzai-shu. Joshua Jonathan (talk) 06:56, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio

A large portion of the text in the "History" section was taken verbatim from the Zen Center's web site; as such, I've removed the offending passages. Powers T 13:01, 30 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
