Following the judgement against intelligent design supporters in the Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District trial where a judge decided that it was unconstitutional for Dover Area High School's school board to require teachers to tell students that Darwin's theory of evolution is "not a fact," members of Repent America went door-to-door.[1] The group visited thousands of homes to proselytize and invited residents to a Repent America sponsored creation seminar hosted by Kent Hovind in the Dover Area High School auditorium.[2][3]"

Misquote
I'm removing the following sentence from the article "Repent America director Michael Marcavage implied that Southern Decadence, a festival that celebrates homosexuality, was to blame for the severity of the hurricane hit." This is not substantiated by the press release. Marcavage never places blame on any event. While he does devote most of the press release to the upcoming Southern Decadence festival, he also mentions other examples of "wickedness":
- "New Orleans was also known for its Mardi Gras parties where thousands of drunken men would revel in the streets to exchange plastic jewelry for drunken women to expose their breasts and to engage in other sex acts. This annual event sparked the creation of the "Girls Gone Wild" video series. Furthermore, Louisiana had a total of ten abortion clinics with half of them operating in New Orleans, where countless numbers of children were murdered at the hands of abortionists. Additionally, New Orleans has always been known as one of the "Murder Capitals of the World" with a rate ten times the national average.
He never says any of these things were the reason for the hurricane. He only says this now poses an opportunity for "...this act of God cause us all to think about what we tolerate in our city limits, and bring us trembling before the throne of Almighty God." Johntex 19:47, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
LGBT Rights
Someone has inserted into the article a claim that Repent America is a group that is against LGBT rights. From what I've read, they seem pretty critical of what they perceive as debauchery, whether it be engaged in by homosexuals, heterosexuals, etc. I haven't seen any source given for them being against the rights of any gender/sexual orientation group. - Actually this seems to be one of only a few things in that category that seems to fit. It's a category that includes everything from Jon Hinson, a Republican who after being outed was a founding member of the "Fairfax Lesbian and Gay Citizens Association", to the Nazi Party. Basically anyone who ever said or voted against the interest of the LGBT rights movement.--T. Anthony 09:14, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, sorry, they certainly are against appointment of LGBT into office (at least, homosexual men). Their "Bush Revealed" page touts the ideals of bushrevealed.com and states that they maintain the site, and includes links about Bush's appointment of an open homosexual.--Mr Bucket 19:36, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Of course they're against LGBT rights. On any given page on their website, there are any number of statements that can can be cited to that effect. One would have to be blind not to see them. 74.34.149.144 (talk) 20:36, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
