Anorexia

Why "[Red]"?

Several times, the word "Red" appears capitalized and in brackets -- what does this mean? -- Lenoxus 17:32, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to have since been fixed. It's possible it was a coding mistake, because double brackets are used to enclose an internal link on Wikipedia, and single brackets are used to enclose external links, but I'm not sure, since it's not doing that for me. Runa27 23:13, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Socialist red ribbon

Before the red ribbon was introduced as an aids awareness symbol, it was (particularly in the first half of the 20th century) as a socialist symbol. Should this not be mentioned in this article?

In fact, yes. But the socialist red ribbon is tied with a bow, not only with cross. You can see it in the pictures below. I have an information, I have a sources, so I'm going to edit this article. We must note about the socialist red ribbon so that people know the truth. The red ribbon is the symbol of true left - communists and socialists. It was the symbol of Vladimir Lenin All-Union Pioneer Organization.

Sports teams

It's also used to show support for sports teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs, apparently signifying that the team is as bad as, if not worse than, AIDS/HIV, otherwise why would they be co-opting the symbol? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.26.25.71 (talk) 03:26, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
