Russia recognition

It seems that Russia handed over the embassy in Moscow to the taliban diplomat https://twitter.com/QaharBalkhi/status/1512806184725659652 https://twitter.com/WasiqAhmadullah/status/1512813285598449677 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gsimy (talkcontribs) 09:34, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If Saudi Arabia and UAE have opened embassies to the Taliban, isn't that recognition?

They have reopened their embassies in Afghanistan, but they are not "embassies to the Taliban". It is a form of engagement, yes, but they have been clear they have not recognized the Taliban. ― Tartan357 Talk 02:00, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

China

China has now recognized the Taliban's envoy to Beijing, does this not count as recognition? [1] Jpatokal (talk) 02:00, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It means only that. It doesn't imply formal recognition of the government. 25stargeneral (talk) 02:35, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
