Bad ISBN

Because it is causing a Checkwiki error #73: "ISBN-13 with wrong checksum", I removed the ISBN from the entry:

Anil Yadav, 'Krantidoot- Rao Raja Tularam' -Sarita book House(1998)ISBN 978-81-85394-26-1 Parameter error in {{ISBN}}: checksum

I have tried unsuccessfully to locate the correct ISBN on the Internet. Knife-in-the-drawer (talk) 17:45, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Col Gerrard

How did Col Gerrard continue to lead the British forces after he was beheaded? Could a qualified historian check the article, please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7F:464A:1900:AC9E:7D28:2004:DBDC (talk) 13:09, 19 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tula Ram's caste

Harishbiswal is correctly objecting that the source cited by HinduKshatrana is not WP:HISTRS: its author (S. D. S. Yadava) is a retired army officer, not a scholar. But I have preview of a scholarly source which mentions Tula Ram as Ahir. Its author is Shail Mayaram who is a professor at Centre for the Study of Developing Societies – see her profile at here or here. Here is the relevant quotation:

The Ahir ruler of Rewari, Rao Tula Ram, took over the government of the parganas of Rewari and Bahora in 1857, but the powerful Meos of Bahora refused to accept his authority.

Note that HinduKshatrana has added the Yaduvansi bit in the article, although that's not supported by even the non-scholarly source of the author S. D. S. Yadava. Here is the quote from page no. 19 of Yadava book:

During the "Mutiny" (First War of independence 1857–58) Rao Tula Ram, an Ahir Chieftain of Rewari, fought a tenacious battle against the British.

So, he also mentions him as just Ahir, rather than "Yaduvanshi Ahir".

As far as Harishbiswal's source is concerned, it doesn't mention caste of Tula Ram. The source is describing the general trend followed by royal Ahir clans of Rewari to become accepted as Rajput, a phenomenon which is described by the author as "manipulation of the Kshatriya ideal".

In short, we should replace the non-scholarly source of the author Yadava with that of the Shail Mayaram and the unsourced Yaduvansi bit should be removed from the article's first sentence. - NitinMlk (talk) 21:05, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rao Tula Ram was not a Ahir and not a Freedom Fighter of 1857

Rao Tula Ram was the pigeon of Britishers . Because of him hundreds of real freedom fighter..who truly wants to make country free from Britishers died because he always alert the Britishers about the planning. hundreds of them hanged by Britishers because of him only ...he never faught a single fight in Narnaul too...so please don't make him a superstar....He is just a Gaddar.  Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit extended-protected}} template. M.Bitton (talk) 18:01, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Then i could not understand how the consensus is made, you will start a conversation and now one will reply or object to you, and consensus for what? Places named on a person? Do we have to obtain consensus for that too? The places are located in real world and for sure not a debatable topic. No one is interested to expand the article by itself, parts of which have been deleted by socks and if someone is providing the material, you guys are gonna brag consensus-consensus even though nobody is replying! 117.97.255.140 (talk) 05:14, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest going to relevant WikiProjects: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Biography/Military, Wikipedia:WikiProject_Indian_history, find active members (who edited recently) and invite them here to discuss. But be careful, read Wikipedia:Canvassing first, before notifying other users. Deltaspace42 (talkcontribs) 11:45, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
