Improving the article

  1. Although the article makes a claim for the subject's importance, it does not show notability as it lacks reliable sources to demonstrate notability.
  2. Without inline citations, it is difficult to verify most of the content.
  3. The five references given include two (presumably) self-published sources and a blog. The MSN and Wired articles should be useful but need to be directly connected to the content they verify.
  4. The section on ODG contains at least two direct quotes from the (copyrighted) website http://www.osterhoutgroup.com/. It also reads like an advert with phrases such as "The vast product development range ...", "... any movement or repositioning of your electronic devices" and "... dramatically superior sound reduction" being strikingly unencyclopedic. It needs a re-write at least to comply with neutral point of view.
  5. Much of the article is about Osterhout's companies - these may be best as articles in their own right, if they can meet WP:NOTE.
  6. A more minor point, but the bulk of the article is made up of lists. These would be best re-written as prose where possible.

As this is the editor's first contribution and the subject may be worthy of an article, I would suggest that time be given to improve the article (particularly the sourcing), before any consideration is made of deletion. --RexxS (talk) 05:06, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's still really bad and I don't have time to fix it. Maybe most of it should just be removed until it can be re-written. Rees11 (talk) 21:33, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. There is no biographical info in the article, apart from the companies he was active in. Probably best to remove all those lists and start over from a bio-stub. Rror (talk) 12:34, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since November this article has had 10 credible references added and all of the "advertisement" like wording has been removed. In addition more biographical sections have been added. I am requesting that the maintenance templates be removed.(Robert94704 (talk) 05:16, 20 December 2009 (UTC)).[reply]

Changes

  • Added sources
  • Added biographical info that explains Osterhout's start in product development.

Below is the proposed intro that I believe is supported by the rest of the article. Ralph Osterhout' is an inventor, designer and entrepreneur. During his 40+ year career he has developed a range of products spanning toys, dive equipment, furniture to devices for the Department of Defense.

I do not see any other portions in the article that read like an advertisement (Robert94704 (talk) 23:20, 17 December 2009 (UTC))[reply]
