Revisions

Overall, this article is quite informative and academic in tone. Levels of biases are low which is positive since this topic is so difficult to remain neutral upon. I think overall, you might need to include one or a few more types of gender-targeted crime. Two doesn't seem like a large enough scope, especially since gender crimes (I'm assuming it might be a stub?) mentions multiple other types. Prosecution of such crimes such as genital mutilation might be difficult to find, but I am quite sure there is some kind of trial concerning genital mutilation in international courts.

Right underneath the rape title, it is unclear if you mean that advocacy groups are the types of organizations you are referring to the prosecution relying heavily upon. Additionally, if a crime is rape, what is a rape-like crime? That part is also a little bit unclear.

Under the domestic violence, I believe the title sentence should read "There are not enough...". Additionally, I think it would strengthen that section to define domestic violence and how it differs from rape or encompasses rape. I think that would help you delineate more between rape and domestic violence. I was a little bit confused by the outline in this sense, because I was unsure about if domestic violence encompassed marital rape or not. I would suggest maybe rethinking the total distinction between rape and domestic violence?

Otherwise, I really enjoy the international perspective of the article, especially in the discussion of court cases. I think an image or a graphic of the changing definition of rape could be really important to emphasize the transition. Achresto (talk) 02:43, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your review and suggestions! They really helped! I have changed the "Types of gender-targeted crimes" section to where the "Domestic violence" section is the main section encompassing all the other forms of gender-targeted violence. I figure that would be the most logical way to organize it since in many incidents rape and the other crimes are classified as domestic violence. I have also made changes in response to you more detailed revisions. I am planning to add an image suited for the topic, and I will do so once I find a good image showing the statistics and after I learn about Wikipedia's policies on uploading pictures. Additional comments

I really liked how you dealt with the aspect, giving it a more or less international coverage. However, I would request you to consider adding more types of offence, particularly prosecution of sexual harassment cases. In Domestic violence section, you might consider adding a para on Domestic violence in India for a more balanced international coverage. Moreover, the domestic violence section need to be rewritten as advised above by Achresto. Amartyabag TALK2ME 05:21, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your review and comments! I have added two more types of offenses, but I need to expand on the gender mutilation subsection. I am having trouble finding substantial information on the prosecution of the crime. Please let me know if you think I should add more offenses, and if so, what kind I should add. I have included a part on India under the "Rape" subsection, and I plan to expand on the subsection. Do you know of other countries I could include? Thank you again! Ideally, to have a more or less balanced article, your examples should include reference from perspective of a developed country (US/EU), Developing (India/South Africa/Brazil) and a un-developed/least developed countries (Sub-saharan Africa). This can also be possibly reflected in terms of Civil law (Europe except UK/Brazil) , common law (UK/India) and Religious law (Gulf countries). I would request you to consider adding sexual harassment/Eveteasing to the article for a broader coverage. Amartyabag TALK2ME 09:14, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Min Ji,

I'm not sure if you revised or created your article, so I don't really know what changed. You had some minor grammatical errors: 3rd sentence of marital rape-change to "other side[s] disagree with this notion", add "on" after "infringe" in "since he did not infringe another man's property...", in 3rd sentence of ICTR-was it 1, 2, or 3 policemen in the committee to handle gender-targeted crimes?. Under ICC, you could possibly mention the types of crimes they prosecute (war crimes, genocide, etc.). It may help to add an image to your article. This is more of a minor criticism, but possibly changing "International situation" to "International proceedings" or "International prosecutions" could help prepare the reader for the information given in that section. Overall, your article could improve by being more comprehensive (I understand your time constraints, but this could be a future project for another user), such as adding more types of gender-targeted crimes. I liked the number of sources you had (assuming you worked alone). I also liked the brief background you gave about how gender-targeted crime laws changed. I hope this feedback helps.

Thank you Raven for your review and suggestions! I created this article, and I have corrected the grammatical errors. Thank you for catching those! And I have also changed the title to "International proceedings." That does suit better to the subject matter. I will expand the ICC section to include the information that you have suggested. And I also added two more gender-targeted crimes- honor killings and genital mutilation. Do you think I should add more? Your feedback helped a lot! Thank you again! First

I am fairly certain that there are records of prosecutions before the 1400s. All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 19:24, 30 March 2017 (UTC).[reply]
