Defining Professional Network

I think the Professional Network Service is not what I was looking for when I surfed and wanted a professionally written, clean definition of the term PROFESSIONAL NETWORK, which took me to the above definition. I think there should be two categories of definition, below.

1. Professional Network by definition is the sharing of customer information to expand business opportunities and profitability across a spectrum of fellow professional specialties.

2. Professional Network Service is an internet based professional information sharing online database, usually supported by large server based information companies." - user:Humandefinition

Meaning of SNCR not explained

The text refers at several occasions to an organisation called SNCR which apparently stands for "society for new communications research". There is no wikipedia-page for this society and the reference is a presentation given by DiMauro and Bulmer in 2009. Maybe the text could be modified to: 'According to a survey conducted by the Society for New Communications Research (SNCR), there are at least nine online professional networks [...]' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.110.110.4 (talk) 20:43, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
