McCain?

Why is the McCain reference in this page? If it does belong there, shouldn't it be under a subsection? If yes, then let's have a subsection under every word in the diciontary and call it "Words used by Presidential candidates in 2008"

I think the addition of that is a politically biased decision by the editor. I suggest the entire reference be removed. If no one responds here, I will assume that there is no objection, and go ahead and delete it.

Thanks for your time, guys

I second deletion of the McCain propaganda. Improperintegral (talk) 15:30, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

After 4 days of no oppositions from moderators (or otherwise), and support from Improperintegral, I will now delete the McCain propaganda. Thanks.

Examples Needed

It would help if we had some examples as to what a platitude is. Klichka (talk) 06:22, 7 July 2009 (UTC).[reply]

For example: When life gives you lemons... Make Lemonade!
I just deleted one given definition of "The attitude of a platypus". This is not Urbandictionary.com here! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.166.82 (talk) 07:08, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Revert Previous Edit?

I think the edit by this user should be removed. The person who wrote this is obviously just trying to sneak a meme onto the page. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Platitude&diff=524865122&oldid=520786583

I removed the edit as nobody objected.

The YOLO phrase came back in the April 5, 2013 edit.. I'll undo it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hydrospanner88 (talkcontribs) 16:44, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

YOLO is a platitude. "I know, right" however, is not, as it is honest about its meaninglessness.

Example

"It really do be like that sometimes" is incorrectly referenced and does not appear on the reference. As an informal meme I'm not sure it belongs on this page. Foradon (talk) 16:00, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
