Where's the concept or spec for PURL?

The article talks about "PURL concept", but does not give a definite location or reference document for it. The status of the purl concept is not given in the first section, but it is said to be replaced by W3ID.

Please add a reference defining document and provide information on the concepts status (working draft, widely published and used, to be replaced, whatever).

Irony?

Apologies if I do this wrong but: The first reference links to a purl that (ironically) seems to be dead. 2.106.120.138 (talk) 09:23, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Interim Measure?

What's the basis for saying "PURLs are an interim measure ... Existing official PURLs (on Purl.Org) will probably be mapped to a URN namespace at a later date."? I'm an interested party, so I'm not editing the page directly... though I wonder if it's OK for me to at least add a "citation needed" mark. By the way, for a citeable argument to the contrary, see Untangle URIs, URLs, and URNs: Naming and the problem of persistence by yours truely 21 Jun 2005 DanConnolly (talk) 19:23, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The offending text was historical and removed in an earlier edit. prototypo (talk) 15:45, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation Page // Personalized URLs

I'm planning on adding content regarding Personalized Uniform Resource Locators. Should this be a separate page, or connected as a subheading to this one? I currently have 3 sources and enough info for a generous stub. If this is added as a separate page, I recommend a disambiguation page be added. I would recommend you add it to this one--70.251.178.130 (talk) 14:04, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree; Personalized URLs are very different from Persistent URLs. If an article on Personalized URLs is ever added, it should be disambiguated. Prototypo (talk) 15:06, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
