Talk:Permanent employment

The statements made about "Permanent Employment" are based on 14 years of work experience in the U.S., including a variety of permanent, temporary, full-time, and part-time positions. Anyone who has been in the U.S. working world for a few years has probably been exposed to the differences between those 4 types of positions. This means millions of people have been exposed to it. (Probably these millions of people don't spend much time thinking about it, since this is not the most exciting topic in the world.)

Dr. Ono has reviewed this Wikipedia page, and provided us with the following comments to improve its quality:

First, I suggest that the entry be named “lifetime employment,” which is more standard in the literature, rather than permanent employment. Permanent employment can be included as a link in the entry. I rewrote most of the article, as you can see here. The earlier version of the article was brief, limited in scope, and outdated. It had two references, one from 1984, and one newspaper article. I replaced these references with some classic literature and more recent scholarly articles in the field.

We hope Wikipedians on this talk page can take advantage of these comments and improve the quality of the article accordingly.
