Prime Minister's "circular"

  • I am confused by the Prime Minister's 2005 "circular". Does anyone know more about this, in English? Since the committee on cults was a parliamentary committee, what legal bearing does the Prime Minister's statement have on their findings? Is this equivalent to an executive order of the U.S. President, or simply his personal guide/statement? Clarification would be much appreciated. Smeelgova 09:23, 7 November 2006 (UTC).[reply]

≈ jossi ≈ t@ 03:14, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks, this is his opinion as I see, but doesn't answer my above legal questions. Perhaps we should really consult a French Solicitor for more clarification on what this means, legally. Smeelgova 04:18, 21 November 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Rename

"Commission parlementaire sur les sectes en France" translates correctly to Parliamentary Commission on Cults in France" and not "Parliamentary Commission about Cults in France" as is currently the title. Sfacets 02:49, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

As well - secte translates more accurately as sect in French. The present translation is loose. The French for cult is culte. I would like this entry to be accurate in terms of language. Any thoughts.(olive 18:18, 18 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]
Support Sect. "secte" is very pejorative. Barraki 00:06, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Freemasons

Some critics of French policy on sects have complained that the Freemasons have never been mentioned in official government reports on the matter, presumably because Masonic groups like the Grand Orient of France exercize strong pressures on the national government itself. Some have even claimed that the entire witch hunt against cults is actually a kind of Masonic Inquisition destined to remove possible competition among sects that seek possible candidates for progressive illumination. They criminalized religions?

Is that true? 184.96.217.200 (talk) 22:27, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
