Chemical structure

Would it not be more accurate to say in the intro that it is dimeric form of Pantethene rather than pantothenic acid. As when you need pantethene for biological studies you reduce the dimer?

The chemical structure looks correct to me. It matches the structures given by Chemical Abstracts and PubChem, both of which are linked to from the infobox. ChemNerd (talk) 16:00, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Degraded in room temperature

I added a "citation needed". I could not find verification to that ~~Lior~~

I removed the statement about being unstable at room temperature, as incorrect. Pantethine is sold as a dietary supplement, with a long shelf life at room temperature. Pantetheine IS unstable, but is not the topic of this entry.David notMD (talk) 12:42, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

Removing health claims

I removed any mention of pantethine for acne, gout, chronic fatigue syndrome and adrenal fatigue, as there is no science literature for any of these indications. There is some internet and weak science literature for conditions such as these for pantothenic acid, which is vitamin B5, but not for the chemically related but not identical pantetheine or for pantethine, its more stable dimer form. Also removed a sentence about the FDA not setting a UL (safe upper limit) as that terminology applies to the vitamin pantothenic acid, but not to this non-vitamin. Cleaned up clunky wording and added two references for recent clinical trials, as most of the work dates to 1980s and 1990s. David notMD (talk) 18:24, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
