Merge discussion of TerraNW
- Support merge. TerraNW lacks notability on its own, and seems a bit like an advert. Katr67 (talk) 17:27, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- Very strong oppose. the PNWER was established by statute as something like a pan-governmental body and planning area; it is a separate entity from TerraNW which has specific tourism, sports and "culture" agenda and is under the guidance of the PNWER. the PNWER is much broader than that, and probably more powerful than most of us realize; when it emerged in 1991 I remember "the Cascadia equation" and whenver regional allinaces form our media, at least (in Canada) starts hyping it as if it might be a sign of BC/Alberta separatism (more of a selljob than a dire warning); in thise case it's corporatism and the legislative bodies are in place to facilitate integration of business ventures, and in TILMAs case, the labour code. Still PNWER has some intractable issues facing it, like the fishery or the softwood lumber dispute, and of course five years after it was born Glen Clark launched the salmon war (or Frank Murkowski and Slade Gorton, depending on where you draw the starting line).. What I'm getting at is that PNWER is a lot more than just a tourism body, and the tourism body is not even a wing of it, though "under its guidance". i.e. it's not under its aegeis and not as formal or statuory as the PNWER....Skookum1 (talk) 02:21, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
