This is obviously one of the romance languages, if you can translate it and if appropriate add part to page, please do. There may be some plagarism, so be careful.--File Éireann 23:52, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It is portuguese, I'll try my best to translate: "When young, liquid in the reticulum enters the omasum through the reticulo-omasum hole. Omasum has the function of absorbing water (60-70% of water from cud), minerals, volatile fatty acids and of reducing alimentary particles, using strong and frequent contractions, compressing and crushing those particles.

On the inner face, there are folds [or sheets] with a central muscualr axis. Along the folds there are papiles.

Well, I know nothing about ruminants so, anybody feel free to add it to the main page (or not). --Pinzo 18:07, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of Fardel

They look like ground meat wrapped in greater omentum not omasum. Greater omentum is a large fold of peritoneum hanging down from the stomach. Omasum is part of the stomoch. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.192.82.178 (talk) 23:20, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
