This article does not meet the good article criteria, so I am going to quick-fail it. I will not do a full review all the time there are very severe referencing issues. All claims in the article need references, but in this article large parts are completely unreferenced. It also contains too much information, much of which is very specific. The article should aim to give a brief summary of the most important topics; for instance the history section is far too long and the table about emigration to the US is very specific.
