Rank and decoration
(1) A decoration of a serviceman can be used as a honorific suffix, since it is related to his service shouldn't his rank be given too, in this case shouldn't the lead start, Subedar Neeraj Chopra VSM (2) Secondly Subedar is his rank not his honorific, contrary to what is written in the info box. Yogesh Khandke (talk)
Caste - why?
Why is Chopra's caste relevant? I think I remember edits being made to remove the caste from the page because it isn't really relevant, but now I see it's back on again. I'll wait for a while for input before removing it; anyone who has objections can address it in this section. W. Tell DCCXLVI (talk to me!/c) 08:54, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
wikipedia is about giving more and more accurate information about someone . What is wrong if Neeraj Chopra’s caste is mentioned here ? It is infact a moment of proud for them and country . Going by your point of view , every second information on wikipedia is irrelevant . Rudradaman127 (talk) 14:44, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What you are talking is quite ambiguous. In your words , there is no fixed criteria to judge an information whether it is revelant or not ? Wikipedia is neutral platform made for just providing information . If wikipedia had any problem with caste and its related informations , then many pages representing different castes and communities would not have existed here . Hope you would act without any prejudices . Rudradaman127 (talk) 14:51, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Rudradaman127 We don't mention caste in BLPs unless we have a source showing that the person self-identifies with a caste and that the identity actually matters to them. Generally speaking, it is trivia anyway. - Sitush (talk) 14:03, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
See this Neeraj Chopra has revealed his cast in Ror caste event.
