Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... This person will now head the Indian High Commission to Australia and India's PM Modi is giving a significant priority to Australia–India relations, as clear through his recent Australia visit. So, this person worth a watch for this assignment and it gives him a notable priority than any normal ambassador. --FromShahar (talk) 21:40, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

My thinking on this is that because WP:POLITICIAN says that ambassadorships don't automatically qualify, and that government cabinet-level officials don't automatically qualify, I really don't think the post makes the subject notable. But, considering some things that make other people notable maybe that guideline should be re-written. I don't contest the speedy's removal by an independent editor.
