AI info should not be in opening paragraph

How does it make any sense that this is at the end of the opening paragraph: "The American AI initiative[2] has called NIST to lead the development of appropriate technical standards for reliable, robust, trustworthy, secure, portable, and interoperable AI systems." This does not belong there....... Right? Blue.painting (talk) 00:17, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

User Wtshymanski implemented this today, thanks! Case closed. --Blue.painting (talk) 09:58, 12 May 2019 (UTC)

The section about the controversial standard is awkward

It feels like it should be under a section labeled "Controversy", but the fact that there's only a single example presented makes me feel it would be wasteful. Are there any other instances of controversial decisions by NIST that could be added to the article? 180.66.165.245 (talk) 11:20, 30 June 2019 (UTC)

I'm sure there have been many controversies involving NIST/NBS ( at least going all the way back to the AD-X2 business), but perhaps this section should be moved to some cryptology-related article. THough a quick scan of Outline of cryptology doesn't suggest an obvious target. We're a little light on articles that discuss the impact and social context of cryptology, but we've got lots of things on exclusive-oring bits with PRNGs. --Wtshymanski (talk) 00:12, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
