Uses - phase inversion membrane filtration

I can say, from experience, that it is also a non-patented component in the preparation of thin film cast phase-inversion type membranes (eg UF and NF membranes). These are the types of membranes uses under your sink to filter water, in desalination, laboratory water purification, and in various food and biopharma industries (eg dialysis type membranes in dairy and in the purification of cellular and bio macromolecule drugs). Think Koch Membrane Systems or DuPont Thinfilm or Filmtec as the types of companies whose products I am referring to.2601:602:CB00:94A0:C525:8032:A7C6:C03 (talk) 23:19, 8 August 2021 (UTC) -took me a minute, I had to think but the specific membrane systems that I know use this as one of the solvents in the phase inversion process is PVDF (polyvinylidene difluoride, which are not RO or even typically NF type, both of which are used for retention of small molecules, but rather more for ultra and microfiltration which are used for retention of high molecular weight analytes like proteins, cells, etc.)2601:602:CB00:94A0:C525:8032:A7C6:C03 (talk) 23:23, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
