Why mouse-goat, "μυς" means the "muscles" in greek?--Dewaere (talk) 15:05, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It also means "mouse", and is used in that context in a lot of scientific names. See here; the word apparently had a number of meanings. Ucucha 15:08, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Description

The following sentence is not intelligible to me:

The bone histology of Myotragus shows lamellar-zonal tissue throughout the cortex, a feature peculiar to ectothermic reptiles.

Shouldn't this feature be typical for ectotermic reptiles and, hence, peculiar to mammals?

--AcrophobicEagle (talk) 16:38, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The sentence uses a(n older) definition of "peculiar" meaning "specific to," or "typical of," otherwise, yeah, the sentence should be changed.--Mr Fink (talk) 16:43, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Refimprove

I've added quite a number of references. Although the article could still use more references, is it still valid te maintain the refimprove tag? DaMatriX 20:59, 9 May 2015 (UTC)

I guess keep it for a while longer, maybe a month?--Mr Fink (talk) 21:04, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Weight

Can someone verify the reference that gives the weight of this animal? It states 50-70 kg in the text, which strikes me as an overestimation for an animal of its size. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.193.65.206 (talk) 02:18, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
