The Valley of the Kings was used in the Middle Empire, not in the Old Empire. The tomb ought to be situated near the pyramid in Saqqara, I presume. --Siffler 09:20, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is another Merit-Ptah who is depicted in an unfinished tomb (No. 55) in the Valley of the Kings. She was the wife of Ramose, Governor of Thebes and Vizier under Amenophhis IV.--Siffler
The whole article is dodgy. Valley of the Kings was used in the New Kingdom, from about 1500 BC, about 1200 years after the article is suggesting. The article has many reference, but they rarely cite sources. -- Udimu (talk) 06:16, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Odd sentence

Hello, I find the following sentence odd:

"Jakub Kwiecinski, a historian at the University of Colorado, was cited by secondary source Newsweek arguing that the made-up story of Merit-Ptah exemplifies how "seemingly well-sourced Wikipedia articles" can mislead, and he cautioned against over-reliance on secondary sources."

Why is this article suddenly about Wikipedia? It reads as if some information is missing. For example, was it a kind of hoax by the 1938 feminist, or how did the story come to existence? How was the hoax discovered? Ziko (talk) 17:28, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
