Experts needed

I just read a piece on this by Joshua Foer in the New York Times the other night (see here), and was surprised that we don't have an article on this topic. There are articles on a lot of related topics, which I've tried to link, but I think clearly there can be a decent article on the general topic of competitive memorization.

I do notice that everyone hasn't exactly agreed on what to call this, and that there may not be one generally recognized name. Foer refers to "memory sport" and "competitive memory." There is the "World Memory Sports Council," so perhaps it should be "Memory Sports." I noticed one article referred to "memorists" as a term for the competitors, which may be helpful if "mnemonist" may just mean someone who is gifted. Mnemonist is a much more widely used term. The entire competitive memory community pretty much exists at Artofmemory.com forums to get context on what active practitioners use for terminology. 66.210.202.66 (talk) 23:54, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
