Talk:Medieval and early modern Africa

Article scope is not neutral

The scope of this article is clearly not relevant to African history. The Middle Ages are overall irrelevant as a historical period for any part of Africa. The early modern period is slightly more relevant, but it's still something that isn't applicable to the continent as a whole. To the extent that it is relevant to speak of, say, early modern West Africa, it's something that should be determined by its use in academic historical research.

And overall, it's just extremely weird to arbitrarily combine two adjacent historical periods like this for an entire continent. It seems to have been made solely to satisfy WP:SIZE in history of Africa.

All of this pretty much makes the whole article inherently POV. Peter Isotalo 21:19, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
