Temper Temper being removed?

Where did it say that the song was going to be removed. If it didn't say it anywhere, it's worth deleting. SonicHOG yeaahhh boiiiii23:51, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree. Although there have been rumours that the show is going to modified for US audiences, there's no confirmation yet on what those modifications will be. Annie D 00:37, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Well, Temper Temper should still be in it, since they kept Miss Andrew and "Brimstone and Treacle," which was a dark part of the show in London. Also, it has been said that anyone under 4 can't go in the New Amsterdam for Poppins. SonicHOG 20:56, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

All right, removed. When the show debuts and people actually see what's been changed then the details can be added. Annie D 08:18, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Anyway, Temper's on the show's website (US), so I'm pretty sure it'll stay (they have the whole London Soundtrack on the site). We'll have to see though SonicHOG 22:57, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Adding on to what I said before, Valentine and the other dolls have actors in the Broadway show, so Temper's staying.SonicHOG 22:46, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

List of cast members

I started a new article List of Mary Poppins (musical) cast members because the main article is going to get very long if it includes every single actor and actress that was involved with the show. Annie D 03:29, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Show vs. Movie

I'm not knowledgable enough to write on this, but I think it would be interesting if someone wrote a section on how the show (Broadway or London version) differs from the movie. This could include songs, characters, plot, etc.

I could help write this up, but the list of differences would be rather long. Shall I start a new article Differences between Mary Poppins (film) and Mary Poppins (musical)? Or would that be irrelevant to wikipedia's encyclopedic needs? -- Annie D 01:09, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Miss Andrew

A recent edit had this text: "Mr. Banks states at one point that his nanny's name was Ms. Andrews. A clear reference to Julie Andrews." Although I thought the same thing at first, the character Ms. Andrew is directly lifted from the book. It's just a bonus that her name is similar to Julie Andrews. -- Annie D 00:26, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

External links

An external link to a Mary Poppins fansite has been removed. I understand that wikipedia isn't a repository of links, but I think it should be included, as it has further info about the cast changes. Thoughts? Annie D 00:32, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I removed that. If you think it should stay, I won't remove it again. I confess, I saw the word "fansite" and just deleted it, but on further inspection it's clearly much more than the typical forum... I do like that chart of the London cast changes - nifty! Perhaps calling it something other than a "fansite" would give more detail of what's there... - Dafyd 12:32, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Broadway back to West End

I just reverted an edit by User:81.133.84.182 who removed the text: "These changes were later transferred back to the West End production." Based on current West End show as it is, the Broadway changes (Jolly Holiday in colour, the giant umbrella) are still used in the show, making the statement correct. Please comment here if there's a dispute. Annie D (talk) 13:52, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Yep, I'll back you up on that. They're definitely there in London... not that they improve the show in any way! - Dafyd (talk) 15:27, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Sweden/Denmark/Hungary/Australia International versions

Does anybody have any information on the Stockholm production opening in October, 2008, besides the fact that it is the first Scandinavian and the first translated production. Also, does anybody know anything about Denmark, Finland, Hungary, or Australia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.88.121.239 (talk) 21:07, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

The Australian production is in talks at the moment, depsite previously announcing the premiere at the Capitol Theatre Syndey. The musical Wicked has been confirmed to move into the Capitol this September, therefore it is being discussed whether Mary Poppins will open at the Capitol in late 2010 or open in Melbourne at the Regent Theatre or Her Majesty's Theatre in late 2009/early 2010. As auditions etc have not yet commenced I do not think anything is going to happen in a hurry. I wouldnt be suprised if they held off the production until Australia is out of its recession. Hope this helps :)

Stay Awake

I just reverted an edit that added the song "Stay Awake" to the synopsis at the end of Act I. While this addition might be correct for the current Broadway show (I wouldn't know), the synopsis and song list should reflect the production as it was when it first opened, though the changes can be noted in a post-script beneath the song list. Annie D (talk) 19:07, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

This is correct. "Stay Awake" is not featured in the stage play. Seen it enough times to know. - mailme@jmfa.fastmail.net — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.54.197.83 (talk) 00:26, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

The majority of the contents of the cast list are not notable, much less even sourced even if they were notable enough for inclusion. WP:Indiscriminate. Original cast(s) and notable replacements should be included on the main page from the list, and the list should then be PROD/AFD subsequently. Aaron Booth (talk) 21:46, 3 April 2013 (UTC) Well, that is true,BUT some should be listed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.240.178.199 (talk) 22:02, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
