This page disproportionately draws attention to the use of the site for crime. Manhunt by itself is no more or less likely to facilitate crime among members who choose to meet. What increases the rate of crimes among Manhunt's users is that 1) people meeting for sex are more likely to meet in a home, which is less safe than a public place and 2) people meeting for sex tend to meet more people online than those not meeting for sex, increasing the probability of a bad meeting. SO, while the crime linked to Manhunt should be mentioned on this page, it should not be in a section that vastly outweighs the description of the site, and perhaps should be a link to another stub on online cruising, where the information in the "Robberies" section would better fit. I hope the author of this stub will make this correction.

Expansion

PNP
The article may be inconsistent about whether references to PNP are allowed. At one point, the article says "[r]eferences to illegal drug use (such as “PNP”) are also disallowed." Later, however, the site's general manager is quoted in a way that suggests the site leaves such choices to users ("[w]e believe that people have the right to PNP or not to PNP, to use condoms or not use condoms.... We provided an empty site and our customers have filled it.") Some research suggests that MANHUNT allows users to state that they do not PNP. Can anyone clarify the article? largest LGBT website

Article WAY too rosy
Manhunt's previous encarnation was gaymenforsexnow.com, which went out of business when they started charging people to use the site. Things this article doesn't mention, by the way:
- Manhunt farms out users' profiles to other websites without the users' permission.
- Manhunt gives users registered as living in certain states free features, while other states have to pay for the same features. A site employee even told me this.
- If the site doesn't like something, anything, about your profile, they can threaten you to send them a scan of your drivers license, and if you refuse they delete your profile. Think about that shit for a second.

Discussion; Manhunt.net
This website seems to only have one goal, promiscuous sexual activity among strangers.
One can argue that manhunt is a way for people to meet people and what they do after is decided among two consenting adults. The problem is, this website tends to facilitate men meeting men for the sole purpouse of engaging in sexual activity.
They may also argue that they are "socially responsible" working with health clinics and programs regarding public health but if not for Manhunt.net in the first place, there wouldnt be a surge in men meeting and engaging in multiple sexual partners on any given day and contributing to the transmission of STD's.

Manhunt as it seems is a platform that is part of the problem and not a solution.
Actually meeting people in clubs and getting to know them before engaging in sexual activity is a lost cause, mainly because of websites like these.
Its much easier to connect with multiple partners at any given moment using this website, where the hunt in the real world is definitely a hunt that produces less game.
The website however, is without a doubt making a fortune in memberships at the detriment of the gay community.
