Purpose of the article

First, what is the purpose of the article. I am a Malaysian Indian and I can assure that the language that is spoken in Chennai (standard form) and Malaysia is the same and the Tamil language article in Wikipedia is more than sufficient to represent our language as we share identical history with Tamil Indians. Minor difference, we tend sometime speak Malay while we were communicating in Tamil, but that does not change the vocabulary as the Malay word remain Malay and it do not become a part of Tamil. Evidently, I will agree that this article does not explain Malaysian Tamil dialect well as it focuses to much of its impact on Malay rather than its own characteristics. But, to say that a Malaysian Tamil dialect does not exist is simply wrong my friend. Yes it is the same language but a different dialect/slang. Malaysian tamils have very different pronunciation and accent compared to Indian Tamils, and of course in many instances the vocabulary is different. Also Chennai Tamil/Madras bashai is not the standard form of Tamil and itself is a dialect with many different loanwords and varying vocab like Maja, bejaar, gabbu. Examples of different vocab used in Malaysian Tamil is, காடி, சப்பாத்து, கோசம், ஆமாவா instead of அப்படியா etc. Reaman2345 (talk) 11:33, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
