History?

I was wondering, do we have anything on the history of this bomb's development? A year would be a good addition, that way we could more specifically categorize it, and, of course, it would improve the article. --IvoShandor (talk) 23:32, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Correct timeframe for this bomb use?

Hi, I'm confused related to when was this bomb developed and used.
This article says it was in the 1950s, however two other WW2-related wikiarticles (Air Raid on Bari and SS John Harvey) make reference to the M47A1 bomb. So unless the same designation was used for two similar weapons in two close timeframes (unlikely, IMHO), my assumption is that the M47 is a WW2 weapon (that was employed also in later times).
Can anyone please help, providing verifiable references/citations to clarify this issue?

Hmm, I'm not sure where the 1950s thing came from, I didn't see it in the source it was cited to, in fact that source, a military one, said it was from 1944. So I am going to change it to during World War II. --IvoShandor (talk) 03:24, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actual use
