Old name: two separate words?

In the wonderful book (The Flower of Gloster (1911), ) by Ernest Temple Thurston, which is an (essentially true) account of a voyage in a barge from Oxford to Inglesham via Warwick and Tewkesbury. The author passes through Lowson Ford - note the two separate words. This place is the scene of a particularly poignant incident.

The same separate-word spelling is to be found on old maps; and perhaps this should be noted in the article? 11:39, 7 January 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hair Commodore (talkcontribs)
