I'm a bit sceptical about the "progression" of his first four albums. Triple Point is not "subatomic"; all the track names concern thermodynamics (properties of liquids and gases). Plume is arguably about the atmosphere. I think the most you can say is that he is interested in water and the atmosphere. In fact I think he's said as much in interviews.
