Dropped Forename
Lloyd Jones was born into an Irish family of Welsh immigrant ancestry but in 1837 dropped his forename, Patrick, as a way of distancing himself from his father..
Did the Patrick come first, or second (immediately before his surname)? It is not clear elsewhere on the page.Cloptonson (talk) 06:43, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
He was born Patrick Lloyd Jones and was known by his middle name Lloyd. But his grandson was also named Patrick so not clear if the reported reason is correct. [User: hpb37]
