Wiki Education assignment: Behavioral Ecology 2022

This article was the subject of a Wiki Education Foundation-supported course assignment, between 30 August 2022 and 9 December 2022. Further details are available on the course page. Student editor(s): Rwolff26 (article contribs). Peer reviewers: I Bet on Losing Frogs, Carolinaalisio, Mashal Naqvi.

I think some of the tenses in this article are a bit confusing; general statements about behavior (such as in the discussion of males' territoriality) are made in the past tense, which is a bit confusing. I think these sentences should be revised to be in the present tense, or additional context is needed to clarify if the behavioral observations came from specific scientific studies.I Bet on Losing Frogs (talk) 02:46, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the various sections of this article around to match with our class template for organization of frog Wikipedia articles. For example, I moved the section on subspecies to the earlier portion of the article, as well as the diet section. I also edited parts of the article for grammar and switched sentence structure to be in active voice and eliminate repetition. This article lacks a thorough lead section, I think the lead section should be edited to provide a more thorough summary of the important points for this frog Mashal Naqvi (talk) 20:30, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The addition by Rwolff26 as part as his assignment is well below par for Wikipedia. I am hoping that Rwolff26 will come back at some stage, review what he has posted and make significant improvements, not only to the grammar, but to the subject matter, organisation and focus. In the meantime I'm making small changes as time permits. Jameel the Saluki (talk) 18:52, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have peer reviewed this article and added a more thorough lead section that covers many of the topics included in more depth in subsections. I think the modifications my peers have made seem to have really upgraded this piece; I read it and felt it flowed quite nicely! Carolinaalisio (talk) 00:37, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
