Talk:List of films featuring diabetes

Insulin administration does not equal diabetes

I removed several films in which insulin was administered to nondiabetic persons, either as "shock therapy" in psychiatric treatment, or as an attempt at murder. The stated scope of this list is "diabetes," and insulin administration is just not a sufficient justification to include a film. Not all diabetics get insulin injections (some types just take pills, or rely on diet and exercise), and not all persons injected with insulin are diabetic. The list was not described as "films where people get insulin injections." Edison (talk) 01:30, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Stupidest

wikipedia list ever. what's next... a list of films featuring left-handers? three-legged dogs? iPhones??!!? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.183.124.207 (talk) 23:21, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for your concern. If you look at the end of the Wikipedia article, there are references about diabetes in film. A topic is not notable on Wikipedia unless it has been reported elsewhere, and the references reflect that it has. Such a list is not going to be of interest to everyone, but that does not mean there is not an audience for this. In addition, I doubt that your examples warrant stand-alone lists, though I could see a list of films about dogs (rather than "featuring" them, which is a broader scope). Actually, we do have List of films containing frequent marijuana use. It's not a good list (sure as heck did not make it myself), but it's there nonetheless. ;) Erik (talk | contribs) 12:37, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Experiment

The Experiment (2010 film) is a candidate for this list. Mentioning here since I can't find a reliable source right away. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 21:41, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Diabetes in TV series

I removed the "In television" section mentioning an episode of The Walking Dead as seen here. While it is valid content, it is out of place in this article listing related films. It is also imbalanced to list only that example where others likely exist. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 17:20, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Accountant

In The Accountant (2016 film), a hitman forces a diabetic man to self-administer a fatal insulin overdose. I cannot find sources noting this to warrant inclusion on this list, so I am mentioning it here in case one comes up in the future. Split

There's a brief shot of one of the multiple personalities having diabetes and injecting insulin in Split and this is a reminder to me to add that to the list. --Klferguson (talk) 02:54, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Klferguson, good call! Here are a few sources I found: [1], [2], [3]. Do you want to go ahead and add the film to this list? Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 11:53, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
thanks Erik! added
