Readability

It seems like it could potentially be more informative to merge the two tables into one, with separate columns for the visitor-counts and rankings as calculated by the different sources. _signed,Rosguill ^talk 20:50, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Rosguill, I fixed up the table as you suggested but can see why someone might not like it. Revert it if necessary. The lists are from two different years and while there is overlap, there isn't a huge amount of overlap. PopularOutcast^talk2me! 21:11, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

CRITERIA

It seems unclear why Hong Kong had 25,695,800 according to Euromonitor, but only 8,370,000 according to Mastercard. These figures are so disparate that I believe some kind of explanation would make sense.

My guess is that Euromonitor counts the arrivals from Mainland China; in that case figures would be strongly biased towards Hong Kong. In Wikipedia you must read anything with a HUGE grain of salt. 2804:14D:5C59:44A4:39C8:C85F:8172:9626 (talk) 14:57, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Data unreliability

This is just a fantasy piece by the inferiority-complexed Third Worlders to boost up their egos by reporting silly numbers to the unsupecting foreigners or the UN, to make themselves look bigger and presumably, more confident. If you believe Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia and other hub cities at the very bottom of the list, while smelly Bangkok and Macao at the top (even above London, New York and Paris), then you also believe in tooth fairy. Come on guys: how about finding a reliable data source instead of the wishlist of the Third Worlders?

It's you who has a superiority complex. Most foreigners haven't even heard about the US cities you mentioned. Macau is not third world. It's one of the richest cities in the world, far ahead of US cities. It just happens that a visit to Macau from mainland China is classified as an international one due to the colonial history of Macau. You just can't compete with China when it comes to movements between Chinese cities. What about not colonizing China in the first place? Empty cells in rank columns

I have noticed that when you sort a column, which contains empty cells, by ascending value order, the empty cells appear first. This may be OK for value columns but for rank columns you would expect them to be last and to see the first ranking row first. I think this is a general problem in Wikipedia, but whom should I address? Can you please guide me? --Oriho (talk) 20:25, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Athens

There's definitely been some mistake here. Neither of the boards shows Athens, but they do show Herakleion and Rhodes, both of which are cities with obviously smaller numbers of arrivals and gains. What's up with that? LightningLighting (talk) 17:26, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The edits on 30 Nov 2021 by 2603:7000:6b02:4ebb:ac69:cdda:9b03:5cbb seems to have missed up the lists. For example, since then the Mastercard list lacks number 99 which appears to be Philadelphia. I am not sure which is right and which is wrong but I think this list needs review from somehow who has access to the original reports. Also, I think there are newer rankings by Euromonitor, requiring subscription --MK8 (talk) 15:27, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

EuroMonitor International data and article title

Euromonitor International’s report Top 100 City Destinations Index compares 55 metrics across six key pillars for 100 city destinations, to create an overall city attractiveness score. The six key pillars include: economic and business performance, tourism performance, tourism infrastructure, tourism policy and attractiveness, health and safety, and sustainability. This has nothing to do with top cities by international visitors. The "best cities" are not the "most visited". Adem (talk) 13:09, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
