Death as a side effect

saying that death is a serious side effect requiring immediate attention is more than slightly silly. now, the manufacturer may feel they have to list it on the package insert as part of their legal bs, but i don't see where that requires wp to follow suit. it looks ridiculous.Toyokuni3 (talk) 16:21, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

rash side effects

The VA switched me to lisinopril from Benazepril since the latter wasn't on their forumulary. I put up with an increase in epidermal growth only on my palms for about six years until by chance my sister in law mentioned that she had a similar hand rash after starting lisinopril. I got another doctor to switch me back to Benazepril and that rash quickly went away. -Improved the "Adverse events" section by adding percentages, updating citations, and separating observed adverse events by disease state (hypertension, acute myocardial infarction, and heart failure; the three disease states studied in clinical trials cited in the manufacturer's package insert)

-Added hyperlinks for medical terminology in adverse events section.

-Updated the "Special populations" section to include people with kidney disease. Also re-wrote the pregnancy and lactation section for increased clarity and changed the pregnancy category from C to D.

-Relocated picture of the crystal structure of ACE-Lisinopril complex to improve article aesthetics

-Removed citations in "Medical uses," "Adverse effects," and "Special populations that linked to non-reputable sources (lisinopril.com, a Cleveland Clinic case study, and health blogs)

2) No, a few sections lack proper citation.

3) Recommendations:

We recommend individual citations be included for the percentages listed in the adverse effects section, adding a lead sentence prior to listing the contraindicated populations, removing the recommendations regarding specific creatinine clearance since this is patient-specific and needs to be determined by a trained professional. We also recommend adding a separate section detailing lisinopril’s mechanism of action. Furthermore, it is best to avoid medical terms such as nephrotoxic, dialyzable, hyperkalemic, embryolethality and teratogenicity or alternatively, explain them if lay language is not available or appropriate.
