I am giving feedback to a classmate in my behavior ecology class. I think you did a really great job with this article and I learned a lot about your beetle. Some things I would consider would be to make sure every subsection you have has information added to it as your life cycle subsection was empty in your life history section. Additionally, I would consider breaking up your introduction into some labeled section to make it easier for the reader to read and understand. Overall Suggestions/Comments

This is off to a strong start and has really detailed and easy to read information on a broad range of topics pertaining to this beetle while maintaining a neutral tone. I added some information to the Infestation section since the beetles affect many other non-tobacco products as well. I also added in a few of the other predators that this species of beetles face, beyond the two that were already mentioned. The sections on the animal's life cycle and mating behavior were especially detailed. Some more visuals to help supplement the written description of the beetle through its different stages of life may be helpful.

Review and Suggestions

This is a very strong article. It has extensive and detailed information on the ecology and behavior of the tobacco beetle. The life cycle section is especially informative. I have one suggestion on something that could be added to the Mating section. It is mentioned in the Female/male interactions section that multiple mating can happen in the species, and it will actually reduce the life expectancy of females due to damage from the male. Thus, knowing the cost and benefit to the males involved in polygamy would be helpful. In addition, it would be nice to know whether females have evolved mechanisms in resisting mating if the cost of multiple mating exceeds the benefits. --Reaggyl (talk) 05:08, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits and suggestions 04/09

This article is very thorough and extensive. It covers an extensive range of behaviors, from feeding, to mating, to life cycle. I made minor changes throughout the article, including fixing comma usage, deleting extra spaces where they were present, adding hyperlinks throughout, and removing hyperlinks that linked to empty web pages. If I were to give a suggestion, I would recommend to expand on the food resources portion. While you discuss the foods that this beetle eats from households, do they ever feed or live in unpopulated areas? How do they forage in nature? Rikkizd101 (talk) 21:47, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
