Lake Edwards Township, Crow Wing County, Minnesota → Lake Edward Township, Crow Wing County, Minnesota – Significant available references, including the United States Census Bureau and Crow Wing County's website name the township without the extra "s". ACME Mapper, Bing Maps, and Google Maps all show a lake in the eastern part of the township as "Lake Edward" or "Edward Lake". Backspace (talk) 18:07, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

- No, the county should only be added if the township name is applied to multiple townships in the state. Vegaswikian (talk) 21:57, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- I would be a little more worried about "is" than "should". It's a bit less subjective. That would leave it as the sole "odd man out", not only in Crow Wing County, but probably the entire state of Minnesota as well. I am aware that there are cases in other states/provinces where this does not appear to hold, but generally, I think that it is standard practice. Backspace (talk) 17:32, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

- Thanks for chiming in. I actually have the authority to move this page myself, but since it's not something that I normally do, and I wasn't immediately aware of how to do it, I just defaulted to asking an administrator. - @Vegaswikian: According to WP:USPLACE, the convention for minor civil divisions such as township is made on a state-wide basis. If the convention for Minnesota is to always include the county, we should follow that. Jafeluv (talk) 11:24, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
