Missing knight

"Knights can't be captured and they can't capture enemy pieces." So why is there only one black knight in the diagram?

You are right. Thanks! Now I fixed the diagram. Andreas Kaufmann 16:56, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Definition of "move"

Is a capture not a move? ISaveNewspapers (talk) 18:21, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I ask this due to recent edits. ISaveNewspapers (talk) 18:22, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
When specifying game rules, *move* and *capture* are two different things, for clarity. (A big example for me was when developing rules presentation for Dragonchess. Also for 2000 A.D. (chess variant).) --IHTS (talk) 21:45, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Verb "relayed"

ISaveNewspapers, it's hard to beat David Pritchard, famous author of many many games books, for writing/expressing games' rules simply & concisely, he's the master. Here's a quote from Popular Chess Variants (p. 94) illustrating the use of "relayed" as verb in this variant ...

The only other rules are that pawns may not be relayed to the first or eighth ranks, a pawn relayed to its array rank regains the two-squoare move option, and en passant is abolished.

(You might note too, he didn't find it necessary to append word "capture" after en passant, as you've done in many articles. ;) ) --IHTS (talk) 22:02, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's genuinely astounding how petty and juvenile this comment is. ISaveNewspapers (talk) 08:45, 24 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You should stop with the insults. The brunt of your edits have always been trivial additions of unnecessary articles "the" and so on. To stop you isn't personal it's professional, quoting a truly great games writer. And you just don't like it. Tisk! --IHTS (talk) 09:53, 24 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"You should stop with the insults."
I don't recall using any insults in this conversation. All I did was say that your comment is petty and juvenile, which it is.
"The brunt of your edits have always been trivial additions of unnecessary articles "the" and so on."
It is in the interest of Wikipedia that its articles adhere to standards of grammatical correctness. Do you take issue with this?
"quoting a truly great games writer."
David Pritchard is not germane to this conversation.
"And you just don't like it."
Correct. I do not. In fact, I find it rather irritating. Is this an attempt to make a point?
"Tisk!"
Further immaturity. ISaveNewspapers (talk) 21:39, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You might profit from reading WP:BATTLEGROUND. But then again ... --IHTS (talk) 00:58, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"If another user behaves in an uncivil, uncooperative, or insulting manner, or even tries to harass or intimidate you, this does not give you an excuse to respond in kind. Address only the factual points brought forward, ignoring the inappropriate comments, or disregard that user entirely."
You were correct. Thank you. I will leave this conversation; it is of no use to me. ISaveNewspapers (talk) 06:23, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
More insult, plus sarcasm, noted. --IHTS (talk) 06:34, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
