POV

This is a sweetheart article with no critical considerations. It is a press handout. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.115.135.184 (talk) 19:45, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I absolutely agree and have cleaned up the article, removing loads of unsourced and promotional crap. The journal even refers to this article on its own website, saying: "See the JCI's Wikipedia entry for detailed information." Well, WP is [[[WP:NOTWEBHOST|not a web host]] and if they want people to read that stuff, they'll have to use their own website. Below I list a few references that I cut from the article.
  • Brainard, ER (1959). "History of the Journal of Clinical Investigation, 1924-1959. I. Personnel and policies". J Clin Invest. 38 (10 pt 1–2): 1865–1872. doi:10.1172/JCI103962. PMC 444151. PMID 13803789.
  • Bondy, PK (1959). "History of the Journal of Clinical Investigation, 1924–1959. II. Scientific contents". J Clin Invest. 38 (10 pt 1–2): 1873–1877. doi:10.1172/JCI103963. PMC 444152.

These may be helpful in writing a "history" section, but anybody trying to do so should keep in mind that these are not independent sources and self-congratulatory things like "Reflecting on 80 years of excellence" cannot be sourced to these references. --Randykitty (talk) 17:50, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
