Added biographical information his postwar life and death, interment (and reinterment.) The dates of his US Senate service come from "Congressional Quarterly's Guide to U.S. Elections".

No longer a stub?
I want to note that with my recent additions, I believe this article is no longer a "stub," but a full article. Can this designation be removed? I'm unsure of the protocol to ask for this to occur. Nhprman15:53, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm usually quite bold, but I also believe in consensus, and frankly, there are no solid rules for when a stub is no longer a stub. Your opinion, plus mine, adds up to consensus in my book. So thanks. Nhprman14:53, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
