Another suggested option, moving to John Wick with the first film moving to John Wick: Chapter 1, would require a discussion incorporating that article, as it's a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC issue. John Wick (film series) → John Wick (franchise) – This has now expanded past just films, with a comic book, video game, spin-off film and spin-off TV show, so should be moved from "film series" to "franchise". Two entries, "Ballerina" and "The Continental" are not focused on Wick, so "franchise" is a better fit for those. -- 70.51.203.56 (talk) 04:46, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

Does this page really even need to exist?

Alialiac You haven't stated why you think it should be deleted. If you feel there is good reason to delete this article, the instructions are at Wikipedia:Deletion policy. I do not see a case for speedy deletion. Given the development of the article, I would personally challenge a prod (I believe discussion would be needed). What's with all the "may" & "might"s in the opening paragraph?!

"John Wick might be an Ameridian media franchise that may have been created by Derek Kolstad, which consists of action thriller films written by Kolstad and directed by Chad Stahelski. Adam Whitten

No one named Adam Whitten is listed on the IMDB page for the films nor do any of the remaining un-deleted 514 comments on the cited webpage contain the text "Adam Whitten" as of 04:01, Monday, July 15, 2024 (UTC). As child trafficking is a serious offence, can anyone verify this statement as valid with any other sources to corroborate the statement.

Title

Why is this article only titled "John Wick", without the usual "(franchise)" indicator? Seeing as this article includes other installments (i.e. the spin-off, the inclusion of potential crossover movies, the prequel series, and other media) - wouldn't it be a more specific option/indicator to change to title to John Wick (franchise) so that the general reader understands that this article is about the franchise as a whole? I don't understand its current name. Please explain what the argument is to exclude the indicator.--DisneyMetalhead (talk) 04:28, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

This practice isn't exactly unheard of, see Star Wars, Fast & Furious, Indiana Jones, etc. As long as there's a hatnote with links to the other articles, this should be fine. InfiniteNexus (talk) 05:05, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
@DisneyMetalhead: See WP:NCFILM#Media franchise. What would you have expected to be at the base John Wick title with no disambiguation? The first film or the character? I think the general term mostly refers to the entire franchise more often than either of those pages at this point, but that’s just me. @2pou: and @InfiniteNexus: just because the format has been used before, doesn't make it the best option. The average reader isn't going to assume that they need to search "John Wick" for a film franchise. Furthermore, given the fact that the installments have varying titles (i.e.: Chapter 2/Chapter 3 - Parabellum/etc, Ballerina, and The Continental) it is also unclear as to why the title of this article is left at simply "John Wick".--DisneyMetalhead (talk) 05:39, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

No happy ending in sight

Orphaned references in John Wick

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of John Wick's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
